As the founding President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Prof. Chia-Wei WOO, once remarked: “Hands on the present, and eyes for the future.” This philosophy has guided us in leveraging our past achievements to pave the way towards a brighter and more innovative future for humanity.
To celebrate and highlight our journey of innovation, we invite you to explore our new TV program series, Innovators in Action (創新先行者). Broadcasted on TVB at prime time, all five episodes are now available online and will be shared on the University’s social media channels, showcasing unique aspects of HKUST’s commitment to advancing knowledge and fostering innovation: |

We are also glad to share that HKUST Council Chairman Prof. Harry SHUM was featured in an insightful RTHK interview broadcasted on March 23, which highlighted award recipients from the HKSAR Government’s Honours List. Prof. Shum shed light on Hong Kong’s vibrant landscape of technological innovation. “We have excellent universities, outstanding researchers, and an exceptional opportunity leveraging the world’s largest consumer market—China,” he said, expressing confidence in Hong Kong’s unique position in the Greater Bay Area.
